This is a little welcome blog from me to you!

The thing you will soon get to know about me is that I love diagrams, whiteboards, conceptual frameworks, synthesising and creating drawings that make complex things seem simple.

So, I guess if you strictly take the definition of a blog then I am not your gal! [‘a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style’] I can be informal and conversational, but would I prefer to spend my time writing or drawing? Well I don’t mind writing, and can write pretty well really…but I love drawing…and drawing with a verbal explanation. And drawing and rubbing it out and building on it and using post it notes! I contemplated calling my blog a slog! (Suzi’s Blog) I still might!

I suspect I will soon be a vlogger not a blogger, once I work out how to do that too! In the meantime, I will write, and I will draw and I look forward to exploring topics with you which I think sit within my knowledge base and ones that I maybe able to add value to the broader conversations within those areas I am passionate about.

My passion, and the reason for creating this consultancy is that I believe communities benefit when organisations and leaders thrive! I love and am passionate about community benefit organisations and what they contribute to make the community a better place. I am also passionate about their sustainability and their ability to grab opportunities to operate well as a business without losing sight of why they exist. Without being sustainable then, the purpose of an organisation dies. No cash means no services. No services mean the reason an organisation exists can’t play out. When this happens, our communities will wither and will die. I don’t want to see that happen.

My blogs will focus on topical matters across the broad social services sector, disability, aged care, health and community care. They will be short and punchy, always include a diagram (😊) and will not be perfect, but they will be something.

I look forward to you joining in. My aim is to post a fresh blog weekly. You never know, I might blog more often. So please join in and together we can discuss, the big and the small of our sector.

Bye for now, Suzi
