INTERIM & TRANSITIONAL LEADERSHIP

We know that from time to time organisations experience gaps in their substantive leadership roles and need access to really skilled and capable leaders to either take over a key function on an interim basis or to provide transitional resources to get a piece of work done or boost current resources when it is just a busy period. This can be planned or unplanned.  It can be immediate or at a future date.

 

It can be difficult at times to find the right leader, who understands Community Benefit Organisations and all their complexities and with the skillset to hit the ground running. We can provide these leaders and act as a collaborative partner aimed at supporting the Community Benefit Organisations to continue to succeed.

INTERIM LEADERSHIP

Boards, CEOs and Executives at times find themselves with a gap or an emerging gap in a CEO, Executive or key Management which needs filling for an interim period. This could arise from a resignation or a planned or unplanned medium term absence.  What often happens is the Board and/or CEO use whatever networks they have or look to those in less senior roles to fill these gaps.  This can work very successfully, however it is rare to get someone who has the skills, experience and attitude to just 'step in' and provide the capable safe hands required...whilst not losing momentum.  Even rarer is finding interim leaders who have direct and extensive experience within Community Benefit Organisations, understanding the balance between Purpose and sustainable business practice. This is where we step in.

 

We specialise in CEO, Operations, Human Resources and Strategy/Governance key leadership roles.  We have expertise in aged care, disability services, community services, social services and health. In many cases Suzi Cowcher is able to step in and provide the interim leadership.  When she is unable to, then she draws upon skilled and experienced Associates who can.

 

We are not a recruiting firm. We are Not for Profit specialists who have a clear focus on supporting NFPs and their leaders to thrive, particularly in times of change and transformation.

TRANSITIONAL LEADERSHIP

Boards, CEOs, Executives and Managers find themselves with a need for resource or a leadership boost to deliver on a short term need or an expected or unexpected activity.  This could be commissioning or decommissioning services, short term projects or an extra set of experienced flexible leaders who can turn their hand to a variety of things.

What often happens is the Leader uses whatever networks they have or look to those in less senior roles to boost resources for a transitional period.  This can work very successfully, however it is rare to get someone who has the skills, experience and attitude to just 'step in' and undertake the project or the piece of work that is required.  Even rarer is finding these flexible leaders who have direct and extensive experience within Community Benefit Organisations, understanding the balance between Purpose and sustainable business practice. This is where we step in to provide the extra boost role in resources required.

We are not a recruiting firm.  We are  a collection of extremely capable leaders who have decades of 'hands on' experience within the NFP sector, and have the combination of skill, experience, 'for purpose' understanding and commercial acumen to effectively support organisations undergoing a change journey.

​

On the other side of the equation are highly experienced leaders who for a variety of reasons are at a stage in their lives where they prefer not to work full time for extended periods due to other 'life' commitments.  These highly capable people therefore would like a steady stream of meaningful work which calls upon their skills and experience and they want to make a difference to a worthy cause.

We are building up a solid set of flexible leaders across a variety of levels who can be called upon to fill these gaps.  It is expected that the leaders would have deep experience in NFPs, particularly as employees but might have extended experience as Board members of NFPs to supplement their experience in a commercial environment.
